Ministries

Our ministries at First Baptist Church are designed to meet the needs for all members. We welcome you to come and be a part of ministries that are on the move for Christ and excited about Kingdom building, winning and saving souls! The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few!

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

The Christian Education Ministry provides educational and social opportunities to help children, youth and seniors:

  • Grow in faith in Jesus Christ
  • Build Christian relationships and unity
  • Equip the faith community to share the love of Jesus with others

The Education Ministry serves as the foundational ministries for our Christian Education. These ministries help form us, mold us, and make us better disciples for Christ.

FAMILY LIFE

The Family Life Ministry serves as the ministries helping individuals come together in worship, prayer and fellowship as a Body of Christ in their own unique way.

Children’s Ministry
Emphasis is on teaching children God’s Word and creating regular opportunities for children to encounter the presence of God.

Christians Outreaching to Protect the Elderly (COPE) Ministry
Geared towards senior adults, COPE aims to enhance their lives, encourage them to grow in the Lord, and to challenge them to serve the Lord with their heart, mind, and soul.

Men’s Ministry
Equips men to grow, serve, and reach out with the gospel of Jesus Christ through fellowship, leadership training, retreats, and other opportunities.

Women’s Ministry (United Sisters for Excellence)
Equips women to grow, serve, and reach out with the gospel of Jesus Christ through fellowship, leadership training, retreats, and other opportunities.

Youth Ministry
Geared towards youth, helping them in becoming knowledgeable and committed disciples equipped to accomplish God’s plans and purposes in their lives.


WORSHIP

The Worship Ministries assist in maintaining the flow of worship in every aspect, helping to carry out the message of God’s Holy Word through:

Usher Ministry
Serves as the first representative of Jesus Christ for worshippers entering for service, and maintains an atmosphere of reverence and order before, during, and after the service with a ready-to-serve attitude.

Welcoming Church Ministry
Welcomes and extends hospitality to all that enter any service where God can be magnified. This ministry is designed to make all first-time guests and members feel welcome before services

Music Ministry
Enhancing worship through music and song by participation in various choirs: MGW Inspirational Choir, Men's Chorus, Senior Choir, and Mass Choir.

Diaconate Ministry
The diaconate body is comprised of men and women who have been approved by the Pastor and the church, and function as servants and partner with the Pastor in serving the needs of the church body.

Media Ministry
Assists with activities that help to inform and bring the church body together in services, celebrations, fellowship, and special events through church bulletins, flyers, amplified sound, recordings, PowerPoint presentations, website, social media, and other forms of communication.


OUTREACH

The Outreach Ministries have a Matthew 25: 35-38 heart for serving:

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Health and Wellness Ministry
Aims to promote healing and health as wholeness, and provide a foundation for integrating health awareness messages, healthy living prevention tips, and powerful engagement sessions/activities based on the Word of God.

Missionary Ministry
Addresses the spiritual and material needs of the church and the community through outreach activities such as distributing Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets, assisting needy families, making phone calls and sending get well cards to the sick and shut-in.

Pastor’s Aid Ministry
Provides the necessary support to the Pastor and his family with encouraging words, prayers, actions of love, and assists the Pastor with whatever he needs to shepherd God’s people.
